Dangerous God: A Defense of Transcendent Truth

In the postmodern age, the vertical and hierarchical system of values and truth we inherited has collapsed into a horizontal flow.  We’re forced to ask again seriously Pilate’s age-old question:  What is Truth?

Postmodernism means we can no longer simply ask what is true, or right, but must re-invent what makes something true or right in the first place.  It is essential to understand why and how we got here; that is, what makes postmodernism, postmodernism?  And we must understand how it differs from the world of faith.  Matthew Arnold lamented the “long withdrawing roar” of the “Sea of Faith.”  Do we perceive it withdrawing, and what its departure leaves us with?
